Boy, had we been wrong about this. On our bikepacking trip to Barcelona, we thought we would cross the Pyrenees as cheaply as possible. The 'climb' via Formiguères (Col de la Quillane) and the Collada de Toses are indeed absolute runners. But I had better have checked this climb too beforehand. After a run-up, you get some particularly steep kilometres ahead of you. In Roquefort there is a briefly better running section, as well as in the hamlet that follows, but from then on it is with the coffee grinder dragging yourself up. Truly a beast of a climb in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Tour riders passed here in 1993 (title: Col des Moulis), but as far as I'm concerned it's high time they passed here again.
