Did this climb as part of the RidetheAlps series put on by the canton of Valais, which is series of weekends where they close the roads on various passes and provide amenities for cyclists. Could not recommend the event enough: free registration, free coffee and snacks, refill and raclette stations during the ride. Lovely event put on by lovely people. As for the climb, it is not particularly difficult but gives incredibly rewarding views. It can also be connected to the Col du Lein via a gravel road (easily passable on my 28mm road bike tires) which continues from the top of the col. This extension does add a few hundred meters of climbing though and I found it the most taxing part.
