Not the most complicated pass with fairly even gradients, this pass can be used as a warm-up before the ballon de Servance.

On either side, the Col des Croix is not very interesting. The road is clean but there is very little to see along the way. This path leads to the ascent to the Ballon de Servance, and that's about it.
D’un côté comme de l’autre, ce col des Croix n’est pas très intéressant. La route est propre mais il y a bien peu à voir en chemin. Ce chemin conduit à l’ascension pour le Ballon de Servance, c’est à peu près tout.
Nice warming-up for the Planche. Good road surface, evenly rising and an easy descent. I cycled it last week with a gang.
Leuk opwarmertje om naar de Planche te fietsen. Goed wegdek, gelijk opgaand en een gemakkelijke afdaling. Heb ik vorige week met een bende op het gemakje opgefietst.
Nice climb. At the top you have several possibilities. Highly recommended to include in your route for the Vosges. TIP: If you want to go from Le Thillot to PDBF, it is in combination with the servance the best.
Leuke klim. Boven heb je verschillende mogelijkheden. Een aanrader om in je route voor de vogezen op te nemen. TIP: Als je vanuit Le Thillot naar PDBF wilt gaan is deze in combinatie met de servance de beste.
Nice to just warm up. If you are on top you can turn left on the col de Servance. Straight ahead you go to Servance itself. If you come from the other side and the Col des Croix descends, you can - even if you have square wheels - nice downhill on the beautiful road
Leuk om even warm te draaien. Als je boven bent kun je linksaf col de Servance ook op. Rechtdoor ga je naar Servance zelf. Als je van de andere kant komt en de Col des Croix afdaalt, kun je - zelfs als je vierkante wielen hebt - lekker afdalen op het mooie wegdek
