A Paris Nice classic. First of all, this pass is a bit long.
The end of the climb is beautiful. The vegetation is sparse and the scenery is wild. Deer roam around...
The road is good. It never climbs very steeply, but the pass does wear a bit.
The highlight is the view of Saint Paul de Vence.
Further up, the scenery is interesting but not breathtaking either.
Leaving late in the evening (because of the heatwave), I met more cyclists than motorists, and that's priceless.
4 stars for the opportunity to visit Saint Paul de Vence and for the works of art surrounding the Maeght Foundation.

Very good climb, amazing views.
As mentioned by the other reviews, make to sure to ride this climb early in the morning to avoid the sun as there is no shade.

Very nice climb, but the heat makes it tough! In summer, it can get very hot here, and there is hardly any shade. Expect a dry, almost desert-like landscape with leaden heat! Apart from the heat, it is a very nice climb. Quiet road from Vence, and a road that winds very nicely through the mountains. Highly recommended!

I did this climb from St Paul de Vence. Beautiful climb. Through Vence a bit busy, but then quiet again. Nowhere really steep, except maybe a bit directly after Vence. At the top you are treated to a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea with Nice and Antibes.
