Great ascent with steady incline. The view improves as you move up the mountain.

A 1st access ramp to leave Vence and then a pleasant view. Lots (too many) cars. A steady climb that is never too hard once you leave the town.

Very good regular pass. Shady at first in the morning, then very exposed to the sun.

It's beautiful, the climb is steady and its proximity to the metropolis means you can climb it even during the week. In summer, however, it's a furnace! 7km in 37 degrees without any shade.

Once we were past Vence, the traffic thins out and the landscape becomes rocky. Great views on the descent.

Got on in Vence with cloudy weather. It is nice to cycle along the Baou des Blancs, then the landscape is quite dull for a while, probably also because there was no sun. But then at kilometre marker 22 you see the sea and then it's great again. The col itself is again in the middle of nowhere. With 9.5 km of climbing at an average of 6.6%, it's not really gruelling (at my pace). In the section you have a nice view of the medieval centre of Vence at one point. Was chilled when I got back to my little flat, though.

De col zelf ligt weer in the middle of nowhere.

Main climb of the Nice ironman. Hard and steady, a nice finish. The descent on the other side is very technical.

Salita principale del ironman Nizza. Dura e costante, un bel traguardo. La discesa dall’altro lato è molto tecnica.

Very good climb, great views.
Did this one from both sides.
As mentioned in the other reviews, you have to do this climb 'early in the morning to avoid the sun as there is no shade. The descent is also very nice. You can make some good speed!!!

Zeer goede klim, geweldig uitzicht.

A Paris Nice classic. First of all, this pass is a bit long.
The end of the climb is beautiful. The vegetation is sparse and the scenery is wild. Deer roam around...
The road is good. It never climbs very steeply, but the pass does wear a bit.
The highlight is the view of Saint Paul de Vence.
Further up, the scenery is interesting but not breathtaking either.
Leaving late in the evening (because of the heatwave), I met more cyclists than motorists, and that's priceless.
4 stars for the opportunity to visit Saint Paul de Vence and for the works of art surrounding the Maeght Foundation.

Very nice climb, but the heat makes it tough! In summer, it can get very hot here, and there is hardly any shade. Expect a dry, almost desert-like landscape with leaden heat! Apart from the heat, it is a very nice climb. Quiet road from Vence, and a road that winds very nicely through the mountains. Highly recommended!

Nice climb. Through Vence a bit crowded, but then quiet again. Nowhere really steep, except maybe bit right after Vence. At the top you are treated to great views of the Mediterranean with Nice and Antibes.

Mooie klim.
