Did this col in September 2021. Very good road quality, not a lot of traffic. Climb is long, but not very steep, which makes it very well doable for also the inexperienced bicyclist. It's also rather even, so you can get into a nice rhythm for the entire climb. There's some nice change ups in the scenery, with small villages, forests and wider views around the top. Did this col in September 2021. Very good road quality, not a lot of traffic. Climb is long, but not very steep, which makes it very well doable for also the inexperienced bicyclist. It's also rather even, so you can get into a nice rhythm for the entire climb. There's some nice change ups in the scenery, with small villages, forests and wider views around the top. At the top you can chose to descent back towards Artemare (and combine it with the Grand Colombier!) or hop over the hill and with a short descent ride the flatlands towards Plateau d'Hauteville, where you can further descent down to Tenay via the D21, which is just an amazing descent!
