From St.Ferreol-Trente-Pas you can make a very nice round trip over the beautiful Col de la Sausse, along the back via Vesc and the Col de Valouse back again.
After Crupies, you then climb towards Vesc to the Col de l'Homme. Only very slightly marked on the map and easily overlooked, it is still a surprisingly long climb (or false flat) where you can kick yourself quite over the head, especially in headwinds.
From the other side, with the exception of the last 500m to Vesc, it is only false flat along a small river.
