In 2014 passeerde de Tour de France hier tijdens de 10e etappe. Leuke klim met een aantal haardspelbochten in een bosrijke omgeving. Weinig autoverkeer tijdens mijn rit in juli '23.
Probably the best alternative for doing the firsplan. The gradients are fairly regular throughout. As you leave Osenbach, the traffic starts to thin out, which makes the last part very enjoyable!

No good memories of this one but that was more because of the climbs before this one. In terms of views and scenery, it is nothing special. It's a varied environment though and in terms of percentages it's quite doable. Pretty quiet too :)
Geen goede herinneringen aan deze maar dat kwam meer door de beklimmingen hiervoor. Qua uitzicht en omgeving is het niet speciaals. Het is wel een afwisselende omgeving en qua percentages prima te doen. Vrij rustig ook :)

Very pleasant climb: never really difficult, but quite a bit of climbing anyway. Road surface mostly OK, occasionally a lesser stretch. Descent done in pouring rain and then it's careful going down with the many turns and bad sections. As a stepping stone to the Petit Ballon, it is ideal!
Zeer aangename klim: nooit echt lastig, maar toch al een eindje klimmen. Wegdek is meestal OK, af en toe wel een minder stuk. Afdaling gedaan in de gietende regen en dan is het voorzichtig naar beneden met de vele bochten en slechte stukken. Als opstapje naar de Petit Ballon is deze ideaal!
Not a tough climb, never really steep. Wide pleasant track. Nice climb for racing up with your friends sometime! The descent is also quite doable!

Lovely climb, nicely gradual and winding through the forest. Reminded me strongly of the Rosier (Ardennes), but about one and a half times longer. The top came earlier than expected, always a good sign.

Nice climb! I had few kilometres in the legs in the previous period, then this is a good col to start with. No frightening gradients, but because of the length still sufficient challenge. Road is narrow in the second part, but I encountered only two cars there, so that is not a problem. No great views, you cycle most of the time between the trees (nice in the shadow, it was hot!)

Leuke klim! Ik had weinig kilometers in de benen de periode er voor, dan is dit een prima col om mee te starten. Geen schrikbarende hellingspercentages, maar door de lengte toch voldoende uitdaging. Weg is het tweede deel wel smal, maar kwam maar daar maar twee auto's tegen, dus dat is geen probleem. Geen geweldige vergezichten, je fietst het grootste deel tussen de bomen (lekker in de schaduw, het was heet!)
De klim is vanuit het noorden vergelijkbaar qua helling, wegdek en beleving.
