The asphalt is okay to ride. There are 1-2 steep ramps in the beginning, where you can ride in the blazing sun even in the heat. Towards the back, the rest is nice and even. There is little to no traffic, depending on the time of day.
The view is best at about halfway along the route, after which you ride in the protection of the trees and have shade all the way up to the car parks.
If you want to get to the top of the mountain pasture from here (this ascent is then completed), you have to continue on gravel, where you also have a great view.

Nice climb, doable. Little traffic, asphalt okay. First part is the hardest. Once you leave the tiny town of Montano behind you it rolls nicely further uphill. I took the same road back. Be careful: there is a very nasty bend in the descent with poor tarmac at the turn-off to Monte Frella.
