Well-known climb in the Rijk van Groesbeek towards Berg en Dal, near Nijmegen. It is not a super tough climb, but rather an undulating road where short stretches of climbing and descending alternate quickly. This sometimes makes it feel lighter, but you have to keep pushing.
You ride through a green, hilly landscape with lots of forest and open stretches. Popular with hikers and cyclists, so it can be a bit crowded, but a beautiful and well-known route in the region.
Bekende klim in het Rijk van Groesbeek richting Berg en Dal, vlak bij Nijmegen. Het is geen super zware klim, maar eerder een golvende weg waar korte stukken klimmen en dalen elkaar snel afwisselen. Daardoor voelt het soms lichter, maar je moet wel steeds blijven aanzetten.
Je rijdt door een groen, heuvelachtig landschap met veel bos en open stukken. Populair bij wandelaars en fietsers, dus het kan wat druk zijn, maar wel een mooie en bekende route in de regio.

Heerlijk gevarieerde klim door een zeer fraaie omgeving. Voelt vanwege de afdalingen waar je even kan herstellen lichter aan dan wat de klimpunten aangeven. Het laatste steile stuk (die je heel mooi ziet liggen) is een leuke uitsmijter.

It's steepish descent and climbing alternating and it becomes a good test in pushing/recovering respectively. A few hundred metres here are quite steep, so indeed take advantage of the momentum from the descending parts and give it all after that!

Mooie weg en mooie omgeving. Echter zeer druk met wandelaars en "minder snellere" fietsers. Rijdt daarnaast als een achtbaan dus met een paar keer aan zetten ben je boven. Voor mij leuk om gedaan te hebben maar zal hem niet zo snel nog een keer nemen maar sneller voor de Oude Kleefsebaan gaan.

Door de afwisseling met afdalingen en stukken vals plat wordt het nooit echt zwaar, maar het is mooi fietsen in een hele mooie omgeving. Ik ben inderdaad in mijn woonplaats Groesbeek begonnen, bij de Burgemeester Ottenhoffstraat. Het klopt dat dit eerste stuk ook al flink steil is en het op 1 na zwaarste stuk van de hele weg. Je kunt deze klim gewoon doortrekken richting Berg en Dal omdat je daarna nog een keer steil op en af gaat.

Een heel mooi fietspad naast een drukke N-weg. Bekende weg vanwege de loop maar er zijn veel mooiere wegen in de omgeving.

And certainly if you really start at the beginning of the Zevenheuvelenweg in the center of Groesbeek (intersection with Burgemeester Ottenhofstraat). If you then cycle all the way to the roundabout with the Oude Kleefsebaan in Berg en Dal you have made 117 altimeters over a distance of almost 5 km. Also through this direction you can 'cheat' but less than from north to south.

Als je dan helemaal doorfietst naar de rotonde met de Oude Kleefsebaan in Berg en Dal heb je 117 hoogtemeters gemaakt over een afstand van bijna 5 km. Ook via deze richting kun je 'vals spelen', maar minder dan van noord naar zuid.

Vr het verplichte fietspad er was, was het een geweldige achtbaan, waarbij je voldoende gang omlaag kon maken om met flinke snelheid over de volgende pukkel te komen. Einde bij de bebouwde kom van Groesbeek. Nu moet je iedere kruising goed oppassen.
Nice piece, but not very heavy or steep. The steep parts are easy to climb with some force. Good cycle path, spacious enough and it is definitely worth the effort, although there are nicer ones in the area.
Leuke stukje, maar niet heel zwaar of steil. De steile stukjes knal je met wat kracht probleemloos op. Goed fietspad, ruim genoeg en hij is zeker de moeite waard, al is er in de omgeving mooier te vinden.

I drive this road usually in the opposite direction. The Zevenheuvelenweg runs a bit longer than shown on the map. At least if you follow this road from Nijmegen (and most cyclists do).
Ik rijd deze weg meestal in de tegengestelde richting. De Zevenheuvelenweg loopt namelijk ook iets langer door dan hier op de kaart staat. Althans als je deze weg vanaf Nijmegen volgt (en dan doen de meeste wielrenners).
