24 June 2022: Did this climb after a day of hiking on the same mountain (only higher). It is doable within an hour. The climb is really tough the whole first half, percentages continuously above 10%, little or no chance to get heart rate down. At the fork in the road follow the sign for Rohrberg (left), to the right is to Gerlosberg (eventually arrives at the same point, only a slightly gentler climb). After Rohrberg it gets a little less steep for a while (when you cycle under the cable car for the second time). At a roundabout you turn off in the direction of the restaurant Wiesenalm, if you go straight on by mistake you will soon descend via Gerlosberg. This last part is easy and you can even switch to a slightly heavier gear. You cycle up to the Mittelstation of the cable car, which you have already passed twice. The descent is done by taking the same way back and then at the T-junction left via Gerlosberg. A really beautiful descent.
