Another climb you have to look for to be able to ride. In a nondescript valley it starts between the houses and soon climbs up through a beech forest along a stream. The beginning is ok, but from the first hairpin it is ball. Double digit climbing to get back to normal shortly before leaving the forest. The road flattens out a bit at the hamlet of Kreinberg, and then it erupts in all its intensity. If your legs are already a bit tired, then it's going to be a struggle from here on until you... read more

Conquer the Kreinberger Wand once in your life. Admittedly, this climb is not as legendary as many others in the Ardennes and there may be better-known climbs in the Sauerland itself. And yet it has something unique about it. Not only is there a 500 metre long section with a gradient of just under 16-20%, but there are also some challenging waves on the 2 km long section beforehand, which provide a suitable warm-up programme. After the first kilometre, you leave the forest and are treated to a panoramic view of the hills. At the end of this open section, you pass two farms before things get serious. The tarmac is superb and the course is suitable for racing bikes, which is not necessarily the rule on such climbs.

You come out just before Wiblingwerde on the L692. However, I would recommend taking the section up to "Lohagen" through the centre of Wiblingwerde. There are two more waves around 10% and the section gives the climb a completely different flavour that would otherwise be missing.

Always challenging! You have to concentrate and not get off at 20+ for most of the route... still very nice! We'll be back...

Immer wieder herausfordernd!
