This Warstraat, situated on the Zuid-Willemsvaart, can rightly be called the easternmost climb of this whole spectrum of climbs. Short, unfortunately dead-end but still worthwhile to explore.Personally, I would also say the same about the next, also dead-end initial climbs of the Kempen Plateau that are located between this Warstraat and the next recorded slope, the Ketelstraat via Berg.These are the Bergerven and Sparstraat and to a much lesser extent the Kampstraat, which unfortunately did not make the selection for inclusion in the ranking.Still, one of the most beautiful stretches for those who like short and punchy.
Tijdens het fietsen op dit deel van het Kempens plateau zal men al zeer snel merken dat tussen Neeroeteren en As vele hellingen zich eigenlijk
voor een groot deel op dezelfde heuvelrug die door een paar lange verkeersassen als het ware in twee gespleten wordt bevinden met als gevolg vaak aan beide kanten een vrij korte opeenvolging van hellingen allerlei.Deze Warstraat, dan ook niet toevallig liggend aan de Zuid-Willemsvaart mag men met recht en rede de meest oostelijke klim van dit hele spectrum aan klimmetjes noemen. Kort zoals zovele, helaas doodlopend maar toch wel de moeite om eens te exploreren.Persoonlijk zou ik dit toch ook wel durven stellen van de 2 a 3 volgende, eveneens doodlopende aanvangsklimmen van het Kempens Plateau die zich tussen deze Warstraat en de eerstvolgende opgenomen helling nl. de Ketelstraat via Berg bevinden.Het gaat hier specifiek om de Bergervenstraat ( met op de top niet al te veel plaats om te keren) , de Sparstraat en, evenwel in veel mindere mate dan, de Kampstraat die de selectie voor opname in deze ranglijst helaas niet haalden.Toch wel een aan te raden stukje heuvelrug voor zij die vooral van kort en pittig houden en er geen moeite mee hebben om telkens op hun stappen weer te keren.
