I have fairly bad memories of this as one of the first climbs I tackled after I got into cycling, finding myself on a 14% road and almost collapsing before I had to stop and walk up. Years later I happened by to pass through this one again and it was a sufferfest once again (although at least I got up it without putting the foot down): you lose all the momentum as you turn right and face the steep part (which comes with a pretty forested background, but also with a crappy piece of road surfac... read more

Not a fan of this kind of gradients, but if you're into that, this is a nice environment to ride in

Real calf-biter of the area. Short, but very steep. Nice climb through the forest. The steep bit comes after the last left turn.

Forested, steep climb where you really have to catch your breath. Regularly used as a focal point in stages of the Renewi/Eneco/Binckbank Tour held around Sittard Geleen. (Too many name changes for this course).

The first part of this climb starts in a stream valley on a nice tarmac road / bicycle street that goes up nicely. Just after the highest point you turn right into the Stammenderbos where the road immediately goes up very steeply. Even if you have some speed, you will have to descend quickly. After a while you get some air and a second steep part follows. Then you see the farm appearing on the top. Beautiful surroundings.

Mooie omgeving.
