Zovencedo from Calto

I have a soft spot for forest climbs, so five stars for the road called Via Molinetto leading from Calto and Zovencedo are due.
The start is not easy to find. Basically, you turn off the road between Pederiva and Pozzolo at a signpost for a dental clinic. After a few bends in the village of Calto, the road enters the forest and, on excellent asphalt and nice shade, proceeds without difficulty. Gradually, however, the gradient increases and for a kilometre and a half it will never return below 10％. The "Molinetto waterfall" would be very interesting if it were not right at the start of the most difficult section. Just two hairpin bends intersperse long, steep straights, which must be tackled with the right amount of patience. After a good stretch of this difficulty, the sight of the Zovencedo sign announces the end of the hardest effort. In fact, the last part takes place entirely in the built-up area, passes by the town hall with a beautiful sundial in view and proceeds for another five hundred metres uphill, without however returning to the previous hardness.
For me, it is definitely worth a try, although a certain amount of training is required. On the descent, beware of the narrow road and the humidity, but there is almost no traffic.
