After the toughest part in the middle, you can relax for a while during the more undulating and descending section, before the climb gets tougher again.

Klim over een kleine weg met maar heel weinig verkeer. Het wegdek is zeker niet goed, maar ook niet extreem slecht. Wel is er op verschillende plaatsen (vooral bij opritten van boerderijen) veel viezigheid op de weg.

In het eerste deel van de klim heb je soms uitzicht over de kust terwijl je later veelal uitkijkt over weilanden en groene heuvels. Aan de top is een heel mooi uitzichtpunt waarbij je Furnas en het bijbehorende meer ziet liggen, ook zie je de zee aan beide kanten van het eiland.

Na het zwaarste stuk in het midden kun je even bijkomen tijdens het meer glooiende en dalende stuk, voordat de klim weer lastiger wordt.
