Climb along a small road with very little traffic. The road surface is certainly not good, but not extremely bad either. However, there is a lot of dirt on the road in several places (especially at farm driveways).

In the first part of the climb you sometimes have views over the coast while later you mostly look out over meadows and green hills. At the top is a very nice viewpoint where you can see Furnas and its lake, you can also see the sea on both sides of the island.

After the toughest part in the middle, you can relax for a while during the more undulating and descending section, before the climb gets tougher again.
