This is actually the first part of the 2637m col de Parpaillon. The last 8 km is better ridden with a full mtb. I took the climb while getting my "Brevet des sept cols de l' Ubaye". Quite a tough climb with some nasty sections. Pretty nice, but still desolate scenery. You get regular views of the Ubaye river in the early kilometres. But the views of the surrounding rock massifs, snow-covered or not, remain the most memorable . For the rest, there is little to see except the ski station of la Condamine, which of course has little to do in summer. I did this climb in combination with the col de Larche and the climb to Super-Sauze.

Relatively nice landscapes but without much interest. Very bad road (under construction) and nothing at the top.
Just interesting as an alternative to the Vars pass with some nice gradients

I climbed it after having conquered the Col de la Bonette and the Col de Vars. Pretty tough climb, but short!
