This side of the Ruidenberg is used in cycling competitions and youth races as a descent to the Vinkensveldstraat. The approach is first when you drive through a small forest on a narrow road and then the road makes a turn to the right. At first it's still a false flat, but then it gets a bit steeper. The approach is first when you drive through a small forest on a narrow road and then the road makes a turn to the right. At first it's still a false flat, but then it gets a bit steeper. You see a forested area in front of you. When I did it for the 1st time, the concrete became a little rough and it looked like you were riding on cobblestones. First I thought that my tire was flat but then I found out that this is purely because of the road surface. When you approach the crossroads where the road meets the Steenstraat, you first take a mini-descent that actually is your launch to then do the last tough part uphill to the top of the Ruidenberg where it gets up to 6 percent. Almost no traffic but I wouldn't consider this as a climb but more as a descent.
