Longer not too difficult climb between Froidthier and Clermont. You go "straight up" between the houses. Until Clermont it is nothing more/less than false flat. In Clermont, dock briefly on the cobbles and at the junction go straight up Rue René Rutten for the last and also steepest part of the climb. At the junction with the Chaussée Charlemagne you are at the top. ... read more

For the most part a somewhat dull climb along ribbon buildings fairly uphill. At a small descent you can see Clermont and the ridge in front of you which looks beautiful. Then unfortunately ribbon buildings again but what comes after that makes up for a lot. First you get cobblestones before you. Through a gateway under the old town hall you come in the old city center which is very nice. You go straight into a small road (the cobblestones then quickly stop) which goes up and to the left and back very nice views. Enjoying that last part but a pity of the boring remaining part although it has good asphalt.

A long straightforward climb which passes through a typical Belgian ribbon settlement. The big surprise is when you ride under the gate into Clermont, it is a beautiful historic village with old-fashioned cobblestones. This makes it definitely worthwhile. If you keep going straight on, you turn left where the steepest part of the climb awaits; up to the main road.
At the top you have a nice view into the plain.
