My 2nd favorite climb in Malaga. It also makes for a perfect descent! The road quality is amazing but depending on the day, can be highly trafficked. Never very steep, with a good hard finish, it’s perfect for a training session. It’s a really lovely atmosphere and leads to more amazing roads behind Malaga.
It is particularly worthwhile for the views over Malaga. The climb only has gradients of over ten percent in a few places and the asphalt is mostly good. The biggest drawback on a Sunday was the traffic, lots of cars and motorcycles - there was much less motorized traffic on the descent via Olias.
A fabulous driveway - would recommend to anyone 🚴♀️🚴♂️⛰️🇪🇸
Bajeczny podjazd - polecam każdemu 🚴♀️🚴♂️⛰️🇪🇸
If you're cycling in Málaga this is a must the views on the city are gorgeous with the sea as backdrop. Gradient wise a fairly consistent climb with the sting in its tail and no long decent after. But an undulating plateau which will treat you to more views of the valleys below.
Overall good road surface but after some rain the lower section in the city will have some mud, stones and rubbish on the road.
It is also a comparatively quick way to leave the city when compared to other routes. So if you don't like to swerve through traffic this route get's you out of the city the fastest.
Great climb! 2 small tunnels on the way, good tarmac and nowhere very steep. Only downside is the crowds in Malaga at the start of the climb. Not a nice descent once you reach the top either. It keeps going up and down a bit.
Geweldige klim!
One of the most beautiful stretches of coastline from Malaga. Pleasant slopes and superb views of the city below.
Brilliant climb and descent with the perfect gradient for a sustained effort. Cafe at rhe top a welcome stop in the heat. Great views back down towards malaga on the descent
For me, this was the first serious climb ever. I loved it. The road was good with a few hotels and fellow cyclists along the way. The descent was clear with almost only new tarmac.
Rode up in the dark. Nice view of Malaga which seems to have draped itself into the valley like a golden chain. There is a fair amount of traffic but the road surface is good. Nice that you can go straight from the city into the mountains. Otherwise not very special.
nice climb, in the beginning it is still busy because you are close to Malaga but once out of the habitation there is only rock and green. There is quite some welcome shade. 2 small tunnels.
2 kleine tunneltjes.
