Fino al paese la salita è lieve, poi si intraprende una discesa abbastanza ripida e con asfalto mediocre fino ad incrociare la Cingolina, che da Fontanafredda porta al passo Roverello. La seconda parte del percorso, oltre Faedo, è classificabile come salita vera e propria, con tratti sopra il 10％ e paesaggio che finalmente si immerge nel verde degli alberi. Al valico ovviamente si può scegliere se proseguire in discesa fino a Galzignano, procedere a sinistra per il lato Sud del Roccolo oppure prendere a destra verso la bellissima vista panoramica del Monte Gallo. Per chi infine si ritiene soddisfatto c'è la possibilità di sostare in una piccola area pic nic al lato della strada.
