You wouldn't expect a climb in this locale to be as hard as this, in the lower part of the Chilterns, but its' a actually a good challenge, and quite interesting from a purely climbing point of view. The bends make it interesting too, and it keeps going round a few more bends than you want it to before finally easing.
I would recommend detouring to this climb, depending on your route and the other options you're considering. The other routes up to the Naphill - Lacey Green ridge are all good though, and I wouldn't say this climb is better than Stocking Lane (yet to be added at time of writing) or Clappins Lane, but it's still worth doing, and it's probably the toughest of the three.
