Nice climb, but one must point out the poor condition of the road surface in the part characterised by several hairpin bends one after the other. I tackled it after a day of rain and the road felt more like a gravel path, so much so that at one point, when I hit a leaf-covered pothole, my air chamber holder even fell off the saddle 😂... read more

Of the numerous routes to Sette Termini, this is undoubtedly the most original. The initial variant of Via Pandoré is leg-breaking, other than the 12%, at least in one section it approaches the 20%. Short section, however. Then you return to the classic route, to come out again almost immediately after the short falsopiano di Bosco. And then, having skimmed the village of Castendallo, it climbs at length along an unknown (even to Google maps) and rutted little road into the woods. The asphalt is mediocre and the surface is dirty, but the traffic is nil and you are immersed in the vegetation, at first lush and untidy, which then turns into a forest of holly and chestnut trees. Occasional glimpses of the green valleys. You come out on the classic route at the fourth to last hairpin bend, and climb, again without traffic, along old fir plantations. At the top, it is worth following (MTB only) the path that leads to a meadow with sparse birch trees that is a great balcony over Verbano.
