The ascent of Monte Oiz would not be such a problem if they had not added the last two kilometres. The climb starts with 8 kilometres on a good wide track. Then the road climbs further on a bumpy service road of sometimes concrete and sometimes asphalt. The road is not super bad but in the descent you do suffer from all the rattling. At the last bend, the crying starts: two more kilometres to the transmission towers. Large parts of the descent are above 15 mph, then drop to 8 mph and return to d... read more

At the last bend, the crying starts: two more kilometres to the transmission towers. Large parts of the descent are above 15 mph, then drop to 8 mph and return to double digits. There are also races passing by, judging by the paintings of names on the road...
I don't think this is the most beautiful climb, but it's certainly not ugly. If it is a sunny day, you have a good view on all sides. On my day, it was a bit hazy so you could not see very far.
You have the climb mostly to yourself and some stray horses. I did not see a car or other cyclists...
