Nice climb starting through the forest and at the top you get occasional nice views of the valley and surrounding peaks and lake! Road surface fine and very gentle climb! I came across a baby deer there early one morning! I did the descent on the other side. That one is not too fast on a narrow road with moderate tarmac, but if you take it easy, it's more than fine! From the descent, you have a beautiful view of the lake!... read more

You can climb this climb from two sides. The climb from this side is shorter, but also steeper. The real climbing starts only 9km before the summit, with the gauge indicating that you will average 8%-10% over those 9km. The actual gauge beats out to 15% on stretches, and these are certainly not short stretches. The climb from the other side is more gradual, although there too you climb at 10% average for a long time. Road surface is not good everywhere and the roads are narrow (definitely be careful if you descend via this side). Great views at the T-junction and time to enjoy on a bench.

Beautiful but tough climb with high gradients. At the top (although not entirely known) you have a beautiful view of Lake Maggiore.

The first part from Intra to the beginning of the hairpin bends should not fool you. The first 6/7 km are very very doable, almost easy. The real hard kilometres are about nine. these new ones present very few points to recover from, just by making the hairpin bends. there are several points in double figures with not infrequent peaks even close to and above 15%. The view is splendid at the top because first you are immersed in nature. Then I decided to continue towards Alpe Colle and descended to Cannero, well worth the effort. Acceptable asphalt, crossed a total of 9 cars. on a public holiday.

What a monster climb! Done in July 2023 with 30 degrees. Halfway up it really gets tough and for kilometres it doesn't get below 10% with stretches of 15-19%. The view at the top over Lake Maggiore makes up for everything. Road surface is ok for climbing and hardly any traffic.
