A very ambitious alternative to get to the Lozzo Quarry without taking the classic winding road that starts in the centre of the village.
One ascends Via Pegorile, which starts from Via Chiesa between the central square and the village church. After short passages that rise halfway up the hillside, you come to a fork in the road. Instead of continuing to Valbona, one turns right for the most difficult part of the climb. In fact, the last few hundred metres reserve very uneven concrete asphalt and a dizzying slope. You arrive at the top completely empty and the view from the quarry is the only reward for such hard work. A climb a little bit for fakirs, in short, not particularly impressive. Absolutely not recommended on the descent; uneven ground, steep slopes. A continuous pull on the brakes, in short.
Assolutamente sconsigliata in discesa; fondo irregolare, pendenze asprissime. Una continua tirata di freni, insomma.
