The road makes a loop at the “top” but if you head to the far side there is a narrow cobbled ramp, you can take this to the actual summit. The cobbles are the rougher rural type but passable on a road bike.
Back where the road makes a loop is a restaurant (which is never open) and a church. In the far corner (near the cobbled track) there is a gate which leads to an excellent viewing point and a shrine.
In June there is a vintage car hill climb, so the road is closed and on some religious holidays there is a pilgrimage to the top, so double check before heading up.
Good asphalt and little traffic, the last kilometre is a Roman road, cobblestone type.
Buen asfalto, y poco tráfico, el último kilómetro es de calzada romana, tipo adoquín.
