Last year I did this climb from Gresy-sur-Aix, north of Aix-les-Bains. Around 7 am 's I started climbing because of the expected heat (38 degrees). At the beginning it is a bit of a search which way to go, but from Trevignin on it becomes clear. Climb is nice and gradual along a single ski-lift to a panorama view. From here a beautiful view over Aix-les-Bains (to what extent Aix-les-Bains is beautiful). The lake of lac du Bourget is in any case beautiful. During the descent (on the same sid... read more

A nice, steady climb with plenty of shade, especially in the middle section! Average traffic but a wide road, so nothing to worry about!

Beautiful and quite long climb with great views of the lake at the top. The first part goes up around 8% through the forest. There is some traffic, but I did not find it hugely disturbing. The road surface is good, the descent on the other side is worse with potholes (be careful!). Do ride the climb all the way to the top, the views to Aix-les-Bains are only there.

Nice climb, quite steady with percentages of 5 to 8 mostly and 9 or 10 as maximum. There is a lot of shadow on the road. It can be a bit busy with cars and motorbikes. The view from the top on the lake and the mountains is magnificent.

A fine climb, especially towards the end; the start in the town is not the most pleasant when it's busy.

Also started from Gresy-sur-Aix. I started with equal a steep climb and then I imagined myself in real French farmland. Somewhere I must have missed a turn-off. Cycled about 8 km wrong. For convenience, I blamed Google maps. Once back on the route I could whistle again. At the summit a big tourist event. Besides a shop selling well-meaning rubbish, the restaurant was only accessible if you had reservations. Enjoyed the view though. You look in all directions at another mountain. If you're in the area it's worth it.

Nice climb and especially liked the view at the top. Was clear and sunny so you could see Belledonne, Mont Blanc, Chartreuse and all of Lac du Bourget. Glass panels indicated which mountains you were looking at. Good wide roads. Started early ~ 8:30 with little traffic. In descent already got a lot busier. Beautiful ride!

Goede brede wegen. Starte vroeg ~ 8:30 met weinig verkeer. In afdaling werd al stuk drukker. Mooie tocht!

Long even climb. Started in the heat, but luckily it cooled down a bit. Unfortunately the last 2 km we didn't see anything due to very dense fog. The weather changed three times at the top so I could still enjoy the view.

Lange gelijkmatige klim.

During the descent (on the same side of the mountain) became already busier with cyclists from Aix-les-Bains, but also certainly with cars's. If you are in Aix-les-Bains is definitely a must, especially if you do not see the more difficult Mont du Chat.

This climb last year in August done late in the evening.
You must really search to find it, it is super quiet and drive in the beginning between the houses.
I myself started even lower, really from Aix les Bains.
Nice ongoing climb, however, you always look at a mountain wall in the distance. My cycling heart wants to go even higher, but that was not possible without MTB. Nice to have done, but nothing more.
If you really want to do a long tour, you can even cycle towards the Semnoz, but you have to go back sometime.
