Climbed on 18 April 2022. Beautiful spring day and took the route from the museum in Toulon (D62). This route is the most used and later joins the D62 to the Col de Garde. Unfortunately, there are few road number signs left in Toulon. So navigate by street name or with the bike computer. Nice wide tarmac road to the col. After the col, narrow rough tarmac road to Mont Caume. That type of tarmac resists the heat better than 'smooth' tarmac. The climb will also be very hot in summer. Few... read more

Impeccable road up to the Col du Corps de Garde without too much traffic, after a few metres on the Mont chaume road, beautiful scenery and a rolling strip on the right of the road after that it's quickly a big squall up to the summit. A must-do, great view.

Allows to make a long and difficult pass with the enchainement col de garde -> mont caume even one 1 er January what is not common in france, with 5K@8% to finish, but the counterpart it is the second half to make really a mediocre pavement.

One of the most beautiful climbs in the area. The view from the top is magnificent, and the climb, which sometimes takes in bends on the right-hand side of the road, allows you to see lots of beautiful scenery. The surface isn't great, it's in two parts but it's OK for road bikes.

Few trees and facing south. On the left side (at the climb) is a smooth asphalt road (strip) but watch out for descents; they ride there too! Last 200 metres very bad road (see photo) with holes and loose gravel. Beautiful 'point panoramique' on top, next to the watchtower for forest fires. Descent dangerous because of narrow road, loose stones and holes. Extreme caution required.

Uiterste voorzichtigheid geboden.
