Climbed on 18 April 2022. Beautiful spring day and took the route from the museum in Toulon (D62). This route is the most used and later joins the D62 to the Col de Garde. Unfortunately, there are few road number signs left in Toulon. So navigate by street name or with the bike computer. Nice wide tarmac road to the col. After the col, narrow rough tarmac road to Mont Caume. That type of tarmac resists the heat better than 'smooth' tarmac. The climb will also be very hot in summer. Few trees and facing south. On the left side (at the climb) is a smooth asphalt road (strip) but watch out for descents; they ride there too! Last 200 metres very bad road (see photo) with holes and loose gravel. Beautiful 'point panoramique' on top, next to the watchtower for forest fires. Descent dangerous because of narrow road, loose stones and holes. Extreme caution required.

Uiterste voorzichtigheid geboden.
