Nice climb to the top, with averages of 4-5 it never gets really steep and the climb is easy to do. I have done the climb several times and it was never really crowded. The road surface is in good shape, especially in the first section. At the top, you can enjoy great views where, in good weather, you can even see Mont Ventoux and the Alps.... read more

Superb climb with an excellent surface and fairly calm traffic. The gradient is very even and never steep, I don't think the Garmin ever read more than 7%. On the other hand, I'd expected more shaded areas, but the majority of the climb is exposed to the sun. You'll have earned a refreshment at the top!

A very steady climb to the summit. The section with the hairpins before the village of l'Esperou is very wide with a very clean surface... Be careful, some people think they're rally drivers...!!!!

Despite the reform and my unattractive physique, I still had a great time. Lovely autumn colours, good tarmac and nobody on it!
You can see the finish from a long, long way off, which is a bit hard on the morale!

Very pleasant climb that looks more like an extremely long runner. The road is wide but quiet and you climb sheltered through the forest for the first 15 kilometres. As you approach the base of the climb and look up to the right, you can already just see the summit. Very impressive to have that summit in sight for much of the climb. There is a water fountain after about 6 kilometres, then you have to wait until the village of L'Espérou before you can resupply. At the top, a mighty view over the Cevennes and possibility to eat or drink something in the restaurant. Good climb to test your endurance skills!

Lovely climb with a tame gradient. I left at 7am 'in the morning from our holiday home to get ahead of the heat. Until the summit (37 km away) I crossed 10 cars's, 4 cyclists and 20 cows. Wonderfully quiet therefore. Road surface is pretty good, roads are wide enough and on top of the summit a nice view. recommended.

If you are in the Cevennes, this one is worth a detour. Not too hard, a steady 5-6% and the view at the top is impressive. You can combine this climb with a number of shorter and steeper access roads from different points in the valley if you want to add a sting to it :-)

Nice climb to cycle up at a nice pace, because very even, and only 6% at its steepest. The road is perfect and not crowded. In terms of views, this climb is not so special, but still worthwhile. There are plenty of possibilities to make a round trip.
