Went early in the morning so it was still fairly quiet on the road then.
Views of Mont Aigoual remain fantastic!
Very long, but not steep climb. From Meyrueis, first 12 km to the Col de Perjuret and then another 14 km to Mont Aigoual. A two-stage rocket, then. A nice runner though with percentages between 3 and 6%. If the view is clear then the view from Mont Aigoual is worthwhile
Ascent of Mont Aigoual which, in the book De Renner (Krabbé), is the final descent, to the finish in Meyrueis. It is a true by-pass descent and thus a long, not particularly steep climb, but not particularly steady, as it has many irregularities in gradient.
Climb that via the landmark col Perjuret (according to Tim Krabbé) to Mont Aigoual. It is a climb with beautiful views, but there are many in this area, that goes nicely. It is not entirely smooth but it does not get really steep anywhere.
