The climb starts just outside Kelmis after the Masxtrasse descent on Altenberger Strasse. You ride on the vast majority of it false flat. Only on Marienheide just before the summit is there a steeper bit. Instead of turning left at the cemetery onto Martinstrasse, you can also choose to stay on Altenberger Strasse as far as the church of Hergenrath. After the church, turn left onto An der Kirche and then onto Aachenerstrasse, which brings you back to this climb. ... read more

Very varied route. In the beginning the road winds nicely and steeply upwards from a brook valley (percentage seems higher than indicated in the profile). Cyclists have to cycle on the pavement here but that is not too good and using the road is fine. Just before the cemetery you turn left into a small road that leads through two gates (open) along a small park. At the end keep left twice and a little later turn right and you can follow the road over the viaduct (over a railway) to the end (somewhere in a residential area, it is not clear that this is the highest point). A climb in which you encounter all kinds of things and which ends in a very green residential area with sometimes nice views.

Zeer gevarieerde route.
