But the views are quite spectacular and I can definitively recommend it. It's a really beautiful climb, quite hard, I didn't have much training when I got there, so I suffered quite a bit on the final part. As for the road, it's really very quiet, and the road is in perfect condition. The scenery at the top is splendid. This pass is really worth the detour.
A Super col that starts slowly, and very steady on the second part with continually percentages of around 10%, a very beautiful view over the whole of the second part with a perfect surface. But be careful, the whole of the second part is under the sun!
Very nice and gradual climb with views of the lake and mountains below.
Nice climb, though many open sections indeed. Beautiful views towards Dachstein. Fine road surface, not too much traffic (mid-June).
Mooie klim, wel veel open stukken inderdaad. Mooie vergezichten richting Dachstein.
There aren't that many climbs in the area. This one is certainly worth a detour to tick off. Take care of two things and you will have a good time.
1) Gearing: I have a 52/36 with 11/34 at the back and it was needed. Make sure you have the right gearing for your power
2) Go early! The lower part is protected and in the forest, but the upper part (and also the steepest!) is open to the sun and has full sun from sunrise. And the traffic also gets much busier later in the day.
Other than that, good quality road, nice switchbacks and awesome views!
