What a beatiful climb. If you start on the main road to saint gervais there is a lot of cars and its like 5 procent but when you hit rt de bettex it is bloody lovely
The start via the côte des Amerands is really formidable with a succession of 13-15％ walls interspersed with a very short section where you can catch your breath. It's best to get there fresh.
On leaving the village of Les Amerands the gradient eases for several kilometres. The last 4 kilometres are difficult, including one kilometre at an average of 10％ but the road there is excellent.

Le début par la côte des Amerands est vraiment redoutable avec une succession de murs a 13-15％ entrecoupé d’une très courte section ou l’on peut reprendre son souffle. Mieux vaut y arriver en étant frais.
À la sortie du village des Amerands la pente se calme pendant plusieurs kilomètres. Les 4 derniers kilomètres sont difficiles, notamment un km a 10％ de moyenne mais la route y est excellente.

Ho voluto fare il percorso che è stato parte della 15° tappa del tdf 2023, l'inizio è devastante, 1,6km con punte del 17％ che quando scendono al 12％ ti sembra di essere quasi in piano. Fatto questo primo pezzo il resto è tranquillo e sembra facile anche se ci sono ancora dei punti all'11％. La vista all'arrivo è solendida. Consiglio di avere almeno un 32 posteriore

Je l'ai constaté avec le GPS mais aussi avec mes jambes.
L'ascension du Bettex a déjà été empruntée par les coureurs du TDF et aussi du Dauphiné Libéré.
Belle ascension avec un début très raide, une bonne portion de récupération et un final difficile, le tout dans des paysages grandioses.
Attention prudence car au sommet de la cote des Amerands il faut couper la route qui relie St Gervais à Megève et c'est très chaud.
