I wanted to do the route that was part of the 15th stage of the tdf 2023, the start is devastating, 1.6km with peaks at 17% which when they drop to 12% you feel like you are almost on level ground. After this first bit the rest is quiet and seems easy although there are still some spots at 11%. The view at the finish is solendid. I recommend having at least a 32 back... read more

The start via the côte des Amerands is really formidable with a succession of 13-15% walls interspersed with a very short section where you can catch your breath. It's best to get there fresh.
On leaving the village of Les Amerands the gradient eases for several kilometres. The last 4 kilometres are difficult, including one kilometre at an average of 10% but the road there is excellent.
A very nice climb to recommend.

La vista all'arrivo è solendida. Consiglio di avere almeno un 32 posteriore

The ClimbFinder profile is light compared to the reality of the terrain, the beginning ( La cote des Amerands ) is much more difficult.
I noticed this with the GPS but also with my legs.
The Bettex climb has already been ridden by the TDF riders and also by the Dauphiné Libéré.
It was a nice climb with a very steep start, a good recovery section and a difficult finish, all in a great landscape.
Be careful because at the top of the Cote des Amerands you have to cut the road from St Gervais to Megève and it is very hot.
Have a good ride and be careful.
