Both road variants are epic. The further you go, the steeper it gets. Above Grimentz it really is a grind, with % rarely dropping to single digits. But it is definitely worth it ! - The colour of the Lake and the views are amazing. Also worth adding a short (in comparison) segment to the second lake, with nice glacier view. Highly recommended - but make sure you fuel a lot !... read more

Spectacular climb. long but the last part to the dam is really worth it. That part is steeeeep :). Take it easy to have enough left for the last narrow road and make sure you continue to the every end - you will be rewarded

A brutal climb with 2,000 meters of elevation gain from Sierre up to the dam. The road surface is excellent, but the tunnels can be dark and wet, bring lights. Also take into account that if you go back down, there is a climb up to Vercorin halfway. So leave some juice in your legs.

The wall at the end is quite something! But the dam is 100% worth it. You can also continue a bit after the dam, to have a view on the glacier.

Beautiful climb to arguably the most beautiful of all dams in Valais. The final section from Grimentz is especially tough. Especially cycle past the dam, because only then can you see how beautiful the lake is. At the end of the tarmac you will also find a drinking facility.

A very nice climb, quite some people but they keep their distance, a very good road.
But for the icing on the cake I rode on to the Moiry dam.
With a spicy end it took some teeth to get there.
