Climb to be done early in the morning as it is all in the sun. It starts well, decent asphalt until after Mompantero. After that it starts with hairpin bends and breaks between hairpin bends, on old and potholed asphalt. Last 5 km of pure gravel, but very well maintained. The weekend is full of cars... read more

A hidden gem to try. Similar ascent to the Colle delle finestre but a little tougher, also because of the final 4 km of dirt road at the limit of feasibility with the bike. Very scenic and sunny. Challenging but steady gradients

There was a major forest fire here in 2017, which caused most of the trees to be gone. This makes it a very open climb with phenomenal views. The downside is that it can get very hot. The asphalt is at times really bad and a little further on perfect again. The last 5 km are gravel, the first 2 km are very good, then it becomes more loose with potholes. Like the finestre. This is especially annoying riding downhill. I also hardly encountered any traffic. But this could be because the road was closed to cars's to do the hike to the Rocciamelone (3500m).

Ultimi 5 km di sterrato puro, però molto ben tenuto. Il weekend è pieno di macchine
