A very nice intermediate difficulty climb. 7% average gradient pretty much the whole way apart from a few flattish bits at the start. Nice views along the way. Make sure to do the extra 2km descent to Thiery, as the views of the mountains from there are magnificent. Find the observation table at the far edge of the village, by the cemetery. There is a nice cafe at the entrance to town for a well deserved brake. The descent back to Villars sur Var can be a bit hairy, as the road is very narrow at times. The road is in pretty good condition, but watch out for rocks along the way. A big positive is that there is very little traffic. I went pretty early on a Saturday morning mid September and never came across a single car on the whole ascent.
