The classic that for many means the gateway to the Flemish Ardennes - often climbed in south winds and thus headwinds.

Easy slope on a quiet and rural track. A warm-up for those who want to ride to the Flemish Ardennes via Kruishoutem

The most logical way to drive from Deinze/Zulte to Kruishoutem, if only because it is in line with one of the quieter bridges over the E17 and opens onto a quiet road into Kruisem. Goes up in two steps and at the end it gets quite steep very briefly, near the lookout. So good dosage is important. The second part of the climb you have a view (behind you). By the way, I do not agree that this is the best way to ride to Kruishoutem. I think that is the Nonnegatstraat (for the name alone) because there you turn left after the first set of stairs and then ride up through a hollow road between the trees on the right.

Goed doseren is dus belangrijk.

Go to climb to get to Kruisem. The road is normal Flemish concrete. When you start it, you'd think it's not that hard, but the difficulty is in the tail. The last part is steep, and if you've been flying up there from the beginning the last part stings

Nicest side to climb kruishoutemberg from zulte/machelen. Never really difficult though. From the watchtower that is freely accessible you have a nice view over the region from zulte/waregem to Tielt and deinze

Long, sloping slope of which the percentages rarely really hurt. Nevertheless, a nice slope to speed up the heart rate on the big top.

After the slope you can descend in the direction of Nokere & Nokereberg.
