Koninginnelaan from Heelsum

Nice, nice running climb towards the highway. From the little bridge first bit and the last bit after the overpass a bit steeper, otherwise doable on the outside trail. Beautiful scenery.

Pleasant and undemanding. Wide asphalt road.

I didn't know this one yet. Must say, it's a very nice little climb. Especially when you see the little church above you (which you normally pass on the other side) you almost get an Ardennes/Limburg feeling ;)

Very nice little climb. At the start you cross the stream and see the church with a nice ascending road in front of it. After the bend the road flattens out but further on it rises again to a clear highest point. The second part is in green and you don't notice much of the main roads. After the climb, a descent along the A50 after which you can cross the bridge or go under the bridge to the nice climbs towards Doorwerth. Good asphalt.

Along more than 500 years of history, you climb to the Rijnbrug, over the Heelsumse Beek and past ancient houses through a kind of idyll. But you do cycle right next to the A50 motorway, although you hardly see or hear anything of it. The prominent church belongs to Doorwerth Castle; the last owners (Baron van Brakell) are buried here. Beautifully hidden ascent and the best way to enter the Rijn bridge from the north.
