For the many students this is more of a calvary but it is doable for sporty cyclists. It's a pretty easy and iconic climb I would say, not very steep and neither very ong, with the turn around the abbey it also looks pretty unique in its own way which isn't bad at all. The minus point is that when you climb this road you are also cycling in the middle of the road, there is no real bike path at all.
Not too tough climb that at least leads you out of the hustle and bustle of Leuven. I rode it to recreate the 2021 World Cup lap, but Leuven is far too busy a city for that. I wouldn't ride there especially for it again.
Quite a climb! Great place to cycle! It's steep and takes you from the town to a very pretty village.
Since the adjusted traffic situation, traffic congestion on Keizersberg has eased tremendously. Now only local traffic is allowed there, which greatly relieves the surrounding area.
The hill in itself has remained the same. Straightforwardly opening the throttle and popping up the big slab as fast as possible should not be a problem for anyone.

This Mechelsestraat (the real street name of the slope) used to be the funnel through which all (heavy) traffic entered/exited Leuven city centre. Thanks to the ring road and the city circulation plan that limits cars within this zone, there is much less traffic now,
Climbing route is a fixed component in the local rounds of the annual professional cycling race, Grote Prijs Jef Scherens, and was also included in the local loop of the 2021 World cycling championship.
