This is a hard one. After 12-16% for a long time, the parts with 8-10% starts to feel "easy". For a lot of people a nice challenge can be to ride all in one without the foot on the ground. Be aweare that the temperatur can be 25 degrees down in the walley but close to zero (or bellow) on the top even in the summer. A must do 👍😬

2nd attempt this summer.. I had forgotten how ridiculously hard this climb is..! 20C in Lom, 10C at the hut, fresh snow on the highest peaks. Going down, I recommend a stop at Raudbergstulens new dining room extension, designed by JSA!

This was a tough one! But the view and the landscape was totally worth it. New asphalt at the bottom. Coarse asphalt most of the way, but relative even and no holes.
I’m definatly doing this again!

Incredible, what an experience! This is the hardest and most sustained climb I've done, an absolute must for us who look for this kind of suffering. Be aware of the big difference in temperature during the ride, we started in Lom at 16 C and reached the hut at 2 C... Luckily we brought plenty of clothes for the descent and could change in the hut after a coffee and a cake. Unforgettable day!

The toughest (asphalted) climb in Norway. Very quiet road that ends near the highest top of Norway. Especially the second half is beautiful: you cycle through a kind of moonscape with magnificent views. The road is a dead end, but that should not spoil the fun.
