It's an interesting climb, this one, with that big dip in the middle, and the moderately steep gradients of both parts of the climb. The first part is a little daunting, because it's quite steep and straight and visible from quite low down. When you drop into the dip you feel like you want to carry as much speed as possible into the second part of the climb, but the road is a bit too narrow and the surface a bit too imperfect to give the confidence to stay off the brakes. So you may or may not be carrying speed into the second part. But either way, your speed will run out before the top, and you'll need to work quite hard to maintain some speed. Scenery wise, the first part has some quite posh houses on the left and fields on the right, and once over that first part there some nice views opening up as you drop into the dip. Finally you climb into the trees of Potten End common. It's not the best known or the most used of the climbs along the north side of the valley, but it's worth a detour to go an look at.
