The climb of Ivinghoe Beacon from Ivinghoe Aston is the best way to do it. It's no Whiteleaf, but it's good. You do have a short section on the B489, including a bit of downhill, but this is tolerable, and then you're on the top part through open land and woods. Depending on where you're coming from, the loop out to Slapton is quite long, but you can reach it on quieter roads than the B489, and there are good views to the Beacon all the way along it. I will just say - that all climbs associated with places with "Aston" in the name, in the Chilterns, are good!
