Variant of the Decouxlaan that was a sharpshooter during the World Cup in Leuven. The steepest point is near the pretty white house. The slope is not such that you have to go to the small plate, it is more than enough to bang your way up straight on the pedals. Watch out for decoy traffic. In these residential areas, they are not immediately used to cycling tourists whizzing around at higher average speeds, so a warned cyclist is worth two.... read more

Start at the level of the Leuvense Vaart gently uphill to turn left at the St. Martinuskerk (Wilsele) and immediately right to climb the very steep Hoge BERG laan (what's in the name). Via a light descending part you arrive at the long false flat spur of the Leopold Decouxlaan.

The Hoge Berglaan from Wilsele is certainly not a climb to be done for the view or the nature but if you have to be in Leuven from Wilsele it's nice to ride this road. It's not really busy and it goes uphill but with a rest break halfway and the last part is nice for those who like to ride on an undulating track. The road is well prepared and in some parts there is a bicycle path. Especially for the downhill halfway it is quite pleasantly steep.
But only recommended if you have to go that way and certainly not worth a detour.
