In a ride where we were looking for alternatives to the high (closed) passes due to the weather, we came across this one via climbfinder. Definitely not a cinch considering the gradients. The climb is beautiful because of the rapidly succeeding hairpins and the variation in landscape. You start from a busy road, pass through the village and almost at the top a tunnel. When you feel you have reached the top, cycle on for dessert; a beautiful waterfall.
In een rit waarbij we vanwege het weer alternatieven zochten voor de hoge (gesloten) passen kwamen we deze tegen via climbfinder. Absoluut geen kattepis gezien de hellingspercentages. De klim is mooi vanwege de snel op elkaar volgende haarspeldbochten en de variatie in landschap. Je start vanaf een drukke weg, komt door het dorpje en bijna bovenaan een tunnel. Als je gevoelsmatig boven aan bent gekomen, fiets dan nog even door voor het toetje; een mooie waterval.

Ik ben hier in november 2021 naar boven gefietst. Een mooie steile klim met ouderwetse haarspeldbochten die tegen de bergwand zijn geplakt. Naast de bekende klimmen als de Stelvio, Gavia en Mortirolo die je vanuit Bormio kan starten is dit een vrij onbekende, maar wel leuke klim. Na het gehucht Fumero stopt het asfalt en kan je eventueel op een MTB nog verder het dal in. Halverwege de klim rijd je door het dorp Frontale waar je op de terugweg een bak koffie kan drinken.
