Very nice climb that you must have done. The beginning and end are very tough. Too bad the last km to the antennas was closed with a fence. The descent to Val d'Ebo is very dangerous with bad road surface.
Almost two climbs joined to each other. Very steep but cool view at the top. Very sparse
In 2018, when the Miserat or Xillibre peak was completely unknown because it could only be climbed by mountain bike as it was not asphalted, it was the subject of the Xillibre Everesting Challenge, a solidarity challenge against energy poverty, where we climbed it 12 times on a 16.1km circuit. One of the toughest climbs in the area with a stretch of 1.6km at an average of 15.6% that ends just before the Camp de Tir del Miserat. Here you can catch your breath for a good stretch to face the ascent of the second stretch up to the pass. Turn right to climb the final stretch to the summit. From the summit we have a 360 degree view that on clear days allows us to see the silhouette of the Balearic Islands.
Exceptional climb but oh so hard! Absolutely no let up until a brief respite at just over 3km in. Save something for the final push on the concrete road to Pico Xillibre.
Climbed twice in the same week two years ago in preparation and during the Gran Fondo Contador. It is a horror ! There are only a few hundred metres from the "Campo de tir" where you can catch your breath and then it goes to 20 % and more again.
One of the 5 climbs in the "Marina Alta" that you have to have done :-)....aber only up and then continue at the back via the Vall de Ebo.
Did this as a descent today. I don't know what was more tiring: the uphill stomping or constantly squeezing the brakes and making sure you don't fall off your bike forward.
The view down the road to Pego is impressive.
