This is the longest climb in Thailand and one of the three options up to Doi Inthanon. This was one of my hardest climbs/rides I ever did. First the heat, but mostly the many, many ramps up to 20% is very hard. I did not had low enough gears on my rented bike from Chiang Mai. The steepest I noticed on my Garmin was 21%. The elevation profile does not feel correct as there are so many ramps with above 13%. There are the usual shops with food and drinks along the road, with some section... read more

There are the usual shops with food and drinks along the road, with some sections had no shops, so try not to be out of supplies. If I recall correct, the last shops on my day were around the tourist-market some km before the last national park entrance where you might be asked to buy a ticket.
On the top you have to take truck down with your bike as you are not allowed to bike down.
