It was still a big construction site to cycle through in mid-October, but it is possible by bike. The climb is a pimple, but since we only have the Maeslant barrier, Beneluxtunnel and Brienenoord bridge in our region, it is fun to seek it out. Whatever Fedor also mentioned for the view on top, it's really worth it.

Het was half oktober nog een flinke bouwput waar je doorheen moest fietsen, maar het is mogelijk met de fiets. De klim is een pukkeltje, maar omdat we in onze regio alleen maar de maeslantkering, Beneluxtunnel en Brienenoordbrug hebben is het leuk om hem op te zoeken. Wat Fedor ook al benoemde voor het uitzicht bovenop is het echt wel de moeite waard.

A nice winding uphill that you can see clearly ahead of you and at the top nice views over the beach and the North Sea. It's a bit of a bike ride to get there (although you can then also take the nice stretch around the Oostvoornse Meer) but it's well worth it given its nevertheless unique location.

NB: Tot oktober 2025 is vanuit Rotterdam het fietspad naast de Noordzeeboulevard gesloten maar je mag links op de weg langs de afrastering fietsen. Andere optie (en zo maak je ook een rondje) is via de Prinses Maximaweg. De klim zelf blijft dus wel toegankelijk.

Nice little climb, a change from a tunnel, viaduct or bridge that we often have to make do with in this area. The view is beautiful when you get to the top!
